On Chinese New Year, we headed to Chinatown with our fully charged cameras for a much anticipated photowalk. Chinatown is a good place to see Singapore’s Chinese culture and rich history. Its streets show off colourful ethnic designs, good food and great bargains. There are plenty of choices – perfumes, jewelries, key chains, trinkets, shirts, local arts, handicrafts, etc. There are also temples and multi-coloured shop houses. Very different from the usual buildings and stalls you’ll see in the main districts of Singapore.
This kind of reminded me of our Binondo photowalk in the Philippines years back. Ge and I used to do this before, when we were still in the Philippines. We travel around Manila or Quezon City or Tagaytay to find charming places to feast our eyes (and cameras) on and spend the day. It’s nice to be back on our feet again. :)
Here are some photos of Chinatown’s vibrant neighborhood!
