I got the job! Yay!

I have been praying for a new opportunity for a while now. I work as an IT professional in a banking industry. As you know, bank applications run 24/7 and because it involves money, the environment is quite demanding (and stressful).

Then, there came a pleasant surprise… I’ve had two interviews with this company a few weeks back. I was hopeful but it’s not something I was totally positive about because the interviewer told me that I don’t sound “so keen” in getting the job. Aah, that’s my normal speaking voice, eh. Or did I forget to take my breakfast?

Anyway, this just goes to show that God is in control. I got the job not by my own efforts and understanding, but by His grace and His will. And here I am, thankful for the answered prayers – it’s on a different industry, the managers seem very friendly and encouraging, and they told me that if I was able to “survive” a bank, then this role wouldn’t be so difficult to me.

I am both excited and nervous of this new start. It’s an entirely different industry and as usual, I feel like I’m not very qualified for this position. But here’s God’s message to me:

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” {Deuteronomy 31:8}

I am reminded that God is working with us. There may be times when we might feel we’re not ready (that’s me!) or we don’t have what it takes to accomplish something (that’s also me!) but God will always equip us to carry out His will. He takes care of our needs.
