I’ve been wanting to visit The Grounds of Alexandria since the first time we were in Sydney. But it was closed for a week then because of Christmas holidays. Wandering around the city again, we finally managed to pop in this time. And how charming it was!
The Grounds is an instant favorite. I love how the industrial area is repurposed into a destination on its own. More than just a restaurant café that offers hearty, delish food – The Grounds has an outdoor area for alfresco eating (which is also great for events), mini barn with a pig named Kevin Bacon, organic garden, market stalls for drinks and take-out food, and a flower shop!
The Grounds menu offers a meal that is both wholesome and fresh, complementing the rustic ambiance of the place. They roast their own coffee beans and grow their own fresh produce which is used in their seasonal menu. They also bake their own bread and pastries. And they even offer masterclasses about coffee, food, and styling. So much passion and science are put into making The Grounds a sustainable space that seems to focus on enjoying life’s simple joys.
The entire place is so innovative and awe-inspiring that both adults and children would definitely love it here. Here’s a glimpse of The Grounds of Alexandria beyond the food that they serve.
