I’ve been constantly craving for coffee since we came back from Australia. The aroma is so addicting and I’m starting to love the bittersweet taste that comes from each sip. Uhmm…
To satisfy my cravings, I did my own research of nice local coffee shops around town and convinced Ge to come with me on this cafe-hunting and cafe-hopping trip. Since it will be expensive to go every day or every week, he agreed to date me to one cafe a month. Hooray!
So here’s our first: Artistry Café is a coffee shop and gallery in one. It’s a nice place to indulge with an all-day-breakfast and also a venue for budding artists to debut their painting exhibitions, or hold musical performances, talks and events. It isn’t as glamorous as other cafes but it’s rustic ambiance is equally inviting. And since it’s a gallery, the paintings and decors that adorn the café changes from time to time.
We came there early to avoid the crowd. I ordered Eggs on Toast (two scrambled eggs served with sauteed mushrooms and toasted bread) and Ge had the Big Breakfast. It’s basically the same as mine but with sausages. :)
While waiting, I brought out my coffee table book, Well-Read Women, a collection of watercolor portraits of well-read female characters. I didn’t plan it, but this book somehow complemented the artistic atmosphere of the place. The table is dressed up with beautiful mix of bright, colorful flowers, too.
And here goes my hot Mocha, a silky and creamy blend with strong bitter taste. Made my day!
To further delight our taste buds, we ended our meal with Salted Caramel and Bacon Waffles — belgian waffles topped with vanilla bean ice cream, smoked applewood bacon, fresh strawberries and drizzled with Artistry’s very own salted caramel. Yum!!
